The Forgotten Way

Cleaning out the car and cleaning out the soul.

Injustice is to fail to give God or our neighbor what is due to them.

Obduracy is invincible hardness of heart, impenitence that cannot be subdued, and inflexible persistence in sin.  

Lack of discrimination is the failure to walk along the spiritual way without falling into extremes.

Forgetfulness is the loss of recollection and concentration on God resulting in poor attention over our heart and mind.

Spurious knowledge is knowledge that is unprofitable for salvation. 

Folly is to act without wisdom.

Ignorance is the failure to apply due diligence to acquire the needed knowledge for salvation.

Simple lessons on keeping the last things first.

Over-frugality is stinginess that comes from smallness of heart and ignores the needs of others.

Avarice is the love of money and possessions. 

Moral errors occur when we deviate from what is objectively good from a lack of knowledge or poorly formed conscience. 

Dearth of good actions is a scarcity and lack of good works that spring forth from a living faith.

Lethargy is drowsiness, apathy, and boredom about our work of salvation.

Cowardice is a lack of bravery stemming from vanity and lack of faith.

Rashness is a lack of deliberation and prudence. 

We should never trust ourselves even in the small things. 

Coarseness is language and behavior that is crude, gross, and obscene. 

Derangement is hatred stemming from pride and paranoia.

Madness is a state of irrationality and a loss of judgment.

Idiocy is utterly senseless and foolish behavior. Idiocy is a lack of wisdom.

Silliness is a lack of common sense and sound judgement.

Flattery is false and excessive praise

Stupidity is ignorance of the highest principles. 

Trying to learn self-control as a family.

Sluggishness is a slowness in soul due to a lack of diligence and zeal.

Idleness is a waste of the time that God has blessed you with.

Lack of understanding is the failure to be able to grasp the truth needed for salvation.

Dullness is a deadening of the soul that leaves it unresponsive to truth and grace.

Enticement is to tempt our neighbor into sin.

Licentiousness is the disregard of moral standards.

Mindlessness is a scattered life.

Perversity is the deliberate desire to behave in a morally unacceptable way. It is contrary to what is righteous and just. It is a stubborn opposition to what is right. 

Malice is a deliberate transgression of the law of God.

The deliberate effort in speech, writing, or action to conceal the truth.

Harshness is the abruptness in manner and speech towards our neighbor due to our impatience with their faults, defects, and limitations.
